Wage Subsidy Controversy Erupts

I did a radio interview today with Heather Du Plessis-Allan for Newstalk ZB on the wage subsidy scheme and blamed the NZ Treasury for "botching" its implementation. I argued (and did so on this blog several months ago) that the Treasury could have avoided the current situation, whereby a number of the biggest publicly listed corporations in our country were able to legally take advantage of this scheme,"by adding a couple of lines in the original framework ... that in the fullness of time, should the companies declare big profits at the end of the financial year, the Government reserves the right to take back the money".
