Full Steam Ahead on Climate Action

A few weeks ago the Climate Change Commission in NZ released its report which put the emphasis on enacting far-reaching "command and control regulations" to reduce pollution. The report appeared hot on the heals of the government's declaration of a "climate emergency". Meanwhile, down at the Huntly Power Station:

"Genesis Energy is preparing to fire up a third coal-fired steam turbine to counter looming energy shortages as the country’s hydro storage shrinks to historically low levels ... The Genesis chief operations officer said it was prudent to be looking ahead to winter with the prospect of below average rainfall on top of NZ’s existing seasonal winter storage challenge..".
