A Hidden Gem: MP and Scientist, Parmjeet Parmar, interviewed by DownToEarth.Kiwi

Many members of parliament are driven by ideology and so creating policy on the basis of scientific evidence is not their primary calling. So it's great to discover that NZ does have at least one MP with a strong scientific background, Parmjeet Parmar. She did a PhD at the University Auckland and has a special interest in the bio-technology sector.

We interviewed Parmjeet on the topic of what bio-tech can potentially offer NZ, not only in terms of jobs, business and academic research opportunities, but also in terms of mitigating green-house gas emissions coming from farming.
